Hands down the best spot for Mexican in Portland! The portions are filling and the food is extremely flavorful but not greasy. Service is consistantly great.
Can not reccomend this place enough. To the owners; keep doing what you're doing! -

My friends and I came for an early dinner on a weekend. There was a short but fast moving line. I ordered the tostadas without cheese ($9.99); the price and quantity given definitely match well! When we sat down and asked for water, there was a small orange dot in my water so I asked for a new one. It came in around 5 minutes as he was still serving a large group in front of us. The second time however, there was still a small orange dot but I just settled with it.
Our food came in around 10-15 minutes (take in mind the large group before us) and our server provided us with different sauces. The tostadas were pretty good. The chicken was tender and all of the toppings paired well together. The ratio of meat to vegetables were a little off as after my meal, I still had many pieces of lettuce left. I did enjoy my experience at La Jarocha but nothing really stood out to me. -

This food is authentically Mexican!
My favorite thing about this place was the vibe. The staff was friendly and took our order in fluent Spanish (don't worry, they're bilingual!) and there were classic Mexican songs playing in the background the whole time we ate there. It made me feel right at home.
I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a taste of real Mexican cuisine! -

Very disappointed!!! My family and I came in here expecting good food. Instead, we were left with overpriced, tasteless and unauthentic Mexican food. In fact, when we left the place, they forgot to full-fill our complete order after waiting almost half an hour for it - meaning we paid for something we didn't even get and we just wasted our time!
We drove here all the way from the Bay Area just to get unpleasant food, terrible customer service and an overall terrible experience.
